Just A Little About Us

Our Mission

We are dedicated to providing funds and support for projects to feed, clothe, and educate destitute Haitian children.  H.E.S.P. was established in 1981 and has not missed a year of supporting destitute children in Haiti since conception.

Goals for Moving Forward

-Serve as a conduit to build homes for poor families (like Habitat forHumanity)

-Increase sponsorships to support 100 kids

-Seek to obtain corporate sponsorships from churches, businesses, & organizations

-Continue partnership with Lion’s Club International to hosts vision clinics

-Providing support to renovate & maintain schools

Why We Exist

-Half of the children under 5 are malnourished.

-80 out of 1,000 Haitian children never see their first birthday.

-50% of primary school age are not enrolled in school.

-One-third of girls over six never go to school.

-Approximately 30% of children attending primary school will not make it to third grade; 60% will abandon school before sixth grade.

-Less than 20% of schools have electricity; 39% have portable water; 15% have a library.

-37.9% of the population is unable to read or write.

YEARLY

  • Since 1981 ongoing sponsorship of food, clothing, and education. YTD we sponsor 85 children in need.

2010

  • Traveled & supported over 6,000 children & adults after earthquake

2011

  • Provided labor, materials, and financial support to renovate dilapidated school of over 350 children

2014

  • Provided funds to build and furnish a new school cafeteria
  • Partnered with Lion’s Club International for vision clinic in Pilate, Haiti and 1250 people were given new glasses​
  • Served as conduit to build a new house for needy family in Plaisance, Haiti

2015

  • Partnered with Lion’s Club International for vision clinic in Plaisance, Haiti and 1550 people were given new glasses
  • Served as conduit to build a new house for needy family in Plaisance, Haiti
